Jane Ford, BSc Hons Counselling, UKCP accreditated
Hi, I’m Jane. I’m an experienced counsellor based in central Chelmsford working with children and adults.
Do you feel there are areas of your life that you would like to change? I can offer effective therapeutic support to help you explore what’s troubling you in a safe, non-judgmental space. I offer long and short term work, so feel free to contact me so you can start to realise a more contended and happier life.
A little bit about me.....I trained as a counsellor later in life having been told for years that I am a good listener. However I never considered myself a great student in school and wondered if I would be able to complete the training. But finally I took the plunge, attended uni as a mature student and realised my ‘niche’ in life.
My work..... I have been practising now for around 10 years having initially trained as a child and adolescent counsellor in the psychodynamic model and then later focusing on adults in the integrative model. I then went on to complete my accreditation. Having experience of different models of therapy allows me to offer different approaches to suit each person’s individual needs. I think this is important as one type of therapy may be perfect for one person but unhelpful for another so the ability to be flexible is key!
Next steps....Contacting a therapist can be a daunting and confusing task! Scrolling through lots of websites and wondering what direction to take. That is why I offer an initial consultation where we can discuss your difficulties and think about what you would like to do differently. I will then suggest a way forward, always bearing in mind that the work will always be led by you.
