Jane Ford - BSc (Hons)Counselling, UKCP accreditated
I’m an experienced counsellor based in central Chelmsford working with children and adults.
I can offer effective therapeutic support to help you explore what’s troubling you in a safe, non-judgmental space. I offer long and short term work, so feel free to contact me so you can start to realise a more contended and happier life.
I have been practising now for around 10 years and work within two main models of therapy being the psychodynamic model which focuses on how past events affect our present and also the integrative model which thinks about different ways of helping resolve difficulties including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which offers strategies to manage problems. I then went on to complete my accreditation with the UKCP (UK council for psychotherapy). Having experience of different models of therapy allows me to offer different approaches to suit each person’s individual needs. I think this is important as one type of therapy may be perfect for one person but unhelpful for another so the ability to be flexible is key!
I also work within the NHS Mental Health Service (EWMHS) providing assessments and therapeutic support to children, adolescents and their parents.
How to get started
Contacting a therapist can be a daunting task! Scrolling through lots of websites and wondering what direction to take. That is why I offer an initial consultation where we can discuss your difficulties and think about what you would like to do differently. I will then suggest a way forward, always bearing in mind that the work will always be led by you.
