Jane Bradley (MBACP) Registered Member Person Centred Counsellor

About me

My own experience of counselling helped me appreciate the transformative effect of truly being heard & feeling understood & my main aim is for us to build a trusting relationship where you can experience this too.

Making a start

I offer a free initial 30 minute face to face or phone session so we can get an idea of one another, you can ask any questions you may have & we can plan our way forward together.  Just call me if you'd like to arrange a time to do this.

About counselling & how I work

I qualified as a Person Centred counsellor & work in ways that best suit you & your needs & puts you at the heart of our work together.

Many different reasons bring people to counselling with anxiety often at the core, & whatever yours are I can offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you can speak freely & explore those things at a pace that feels right for you.

Sometimes life events can leave us feeling lost, lonely, worried & afraid with no clear way forward. Talking to a counsellor, rather than a friend or family member, means you can be who you are & say what you want without worrying about possible repercussions.

If you're feeling stuck or fearful we can explore not only what may be causing that, but also look at some of the ways you might make the changes necessary for you to feel more fulfilled. Open discussion in a supportive counselling relationship can often help clear the way for choosing different ways to lead our lives.

Although I don't give advice I am, nevertheless, happy to input & explore ideas & discuss possibilities which can often help promote growth & change.

Over the last 15 years I have supported people with a range of issues including those with MS & also as a counsellor with Macmillan Counselling Services at Eastbourne DGH working with people with cancer & their family members.  Often this has focussed on the difference between feelings of still trying to come to terms with a situation while others are making assumptions & moving on.

I am a fully insured member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP) & abide by their Code of Ethics. I have regular supervision to ensure a safe practice.

I am happy to offer reduced rates to counselling students.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
