About me

I am a integrative counsellor who works with both adults and children, I have specific trauma training, providing strategies to manage stress, anxiety and the impact that this has on our bodies and our lives. I also specialise in grief and loss, supporting people through the most difficult of times.

I offer a supportive environment and aim to understand and support you in working through any issues you face, exploring ways forward and strategies to promote positive change.

My approach encourages self exploration to gain an understanding of the issues that are having a negative impact on your life. Through exploring them together I hope to help you to develop strategies to support you in moving forward in a positive way.

When working with children I provide a calm, consistent approach, developing their social and emotional literacy in a fun and imaginative way through play and tapping into their interests.

The first session will give us a chance to get to know one another, answer any questions you may have along with working together to begin to understand what has brought you to counselling.

Following this we can identify what you expect from the sessions and the desired outcomes. I will be honest and open, discussing progress and the benefits gained from the sessions regularly.

Sessions can be either face to face, walk and talk, or online.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or queries you may have. This will also provide you with an opportunity to see if I am the right counsellor for you

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a degree in Counselling and in-depth training in grief and loss and trauma. I am a qualified Mental Health First Aider providing a good understanding of mental health issues and their impact. I have comprehensive safeguarding training as well as holding a current first aid certificate.

I have twenty years of experience working directly with children supporting their social and emotional needs in a warm, nurturing environment, tailoring my approach to meet their needs.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
