About me

It may be that you are dissatisfied or unfulfilled with your life, or you may be struggling with a specific problem. Perhaps you are feeling stressed or depressed, or in a crisis and need to talk to someone. Counselling offers a safe and confidential relationship in which you can explore your problems and help you make that change.

I am a warm, genuine counsellor, who will treat you with respect and non-judgement. I see my task as a counsellor to help you gain insight and understanding about your situation and help you find new ways to resolve the problem or crisis you may be experiencing.

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and work with an Integrative Humanistic approach. I believe that each of us has an inner drive towards a meaningful and healthy life. This means I work with the view that each person is a unique individual and that given the right conditions has the potential to change.

I am trained to work using Person Centred, TA and Gestalt approaches. I am also a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. My training and experience means I can fit my approach to suit the individual needs of my clients.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP number 658960) and I adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice.

I have an ethical responsibility to have regular supervision with a qualified supervisor.

I have professional indemnity insurance and cover for counselling and supervision. I have a current enhanced DBS.

As a professional registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, I am required to ensure my practice is in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.

I offer individual counselling for both short-term and long-term work. I offer sessions via Zoom, telephone and face to face.

Please give me a call or email me if you would like further information and would like to arrange a free 30 minute initial consultation . If you would prefer to have a full 50 minutes session, the fee is £25. This meeting is an opportunity to discuss how I can help you and see if you would like to work with me.

I am able to offer counselling sessions at my practice in both Christchurch and Highcliffe. The facilities at both these premises provide a comfortable and professional environment for you to explore your problems.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
