Training, qualifications & experience
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherpist and have a range of experiences to draw upon in my role, working for a variety of businesses and organisations, in different roles, including teaching, training/coaching, people management, human resources/development, change management, disability and parent support. This has given me a broad understanding of different environments and life issues.
I have worked as a counsellor since 2007, with clients experiencing a wide range of difficulties from mild to severe and complex mental health issues. I have seen positive results from working with clients both short and long term. I have also worked intensively, over 1 or 2 week period with success.
It can be difficult to take your first steps towards counselling and having been to counselling myself, I remember my own anxiety at the start and am sensitive to how this may feel for you.

As an Accredited member of BACP, my work has been externally verified as meeting a high standard of competence and practice.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

FREE initial 30min appointment in Freckleton.
My standard rate is £40 per hour, extending up to £50 for those on higher incomes, you can decide for yourself what you feel is appropriate.
EMDR therapy - £60 for 1.5 hours
Couples - £50 per hour, £65-75 1.5 hours
Supervision - £40-50 per hour
I can work short or long term. How long we work together depends on what you bring and the depth you want to explore.
It is usually helpful to work for an agreed number of sessions e.g. 3 or 6, followed by a review to ensure that you are getting what you want from the sessions.
