About me

I am a skilled and experienced Counsellor who understands that we all need a little extra support at times to overcome challenges we face and restore balance to our lives. Seeing the changes we want to happen in our lives, starts with gaining a better understanding of ourselves. I can help you to do this in ways which reduce anxiety and promote feelings of well being.

My service is confidential and individual to your own circumstances. I work in counselling rooms on a first floor in Chester le Street through the week and from home on a Sunday. If you are unable to access theses spaces, I can arrange to meet in a place of your choice, including your own home.

I am very experienced and skilled in supporting people who have an additional need for example a learning disability, sensory disability, dementia, mental health need, acquired brain injury or a diagnosis on the autism spectrum. I also have a very good understanding of the needs of people who have a role as a Carer.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Diploma in Counselling and Hypnotherapy, a Post Graduate Certificate (Distinction) in Autism and a Degree in Psychology.

I am a trained bereavement volunteer for a local bereavement care charity.

I have worked in Social Care and Health with people for 30 years and can offer support across a wide range of issues for example:

  • Anxiety
  • Miscarriage
  • Termination of pregnancy
  • Bereavement
  • Low self confidence
  • Low self esteem
  • Procrastination
  • Work related stress
  • Workplace bullying
  • Relationship issues

I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society.
