Jan Hunter MBACP Dip. Therapeutic Counselling
I could support you to identify what is making your situation so difficult for you and support you through those difficult periods. Discussing things through with an understanding Counsellor can help and support you to see you have the choice to do something about it. It can direct you to realising where your problem's lie, and help to prompt change.
Holistic Counselling integrates several approaches; it makes sure the client is assessed, so a needs evaluation is completed and a willingness evaluation is taken. Strategies to assess are used; it isn't just a case of sitting there and listening to someone talk - that's what gives therapy a bad name and that's anti therapeutic. I may draw upon person-centred techniques, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Gestalt Therapy, amongst others, depending on your particular situation.
Counselling has amazed me by the changes I have seen in clients I have been working with, and I feel privileged that clients have enabled me to be a part of their change progress.
I have been working in a confidential manner with clients at GP Practices since 2005. Alongside my private clients, I work within the district as a counsellor and receive referrals from a variety of professionals, including NHS Departments Social work, GPs and different Companies.
