About me
I am a MBACP registered psychotherapist/counsellor with over 15 years of experience, who works with an integrative approach. Taking those first steps into counselling can be a daunting time, so I make every effort to ensure I provide a safe and comfortable environment, free from any distractions. I allow my clients to work at their own pace, which allows me to explore the client's issues safe in the knowledge that whatever they say is totally confidential and they can be reassured they will not be judged in any way.
Everybody will struggle and may need some help at some stage in their life. I ensure I am able to walk alongside my clients as we try to navigate a solution to their problems and issues, enabling them to move forward with their lives.
As an integrative counsellor, I combine a variety of models, including person centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Solution Focused Therapy, Humanistic, relational and Creative Artwork. The counselling will be a mixture of some or all of these forms of therapy, depending on the issues presented.
I have worked with a variety of issues, ranging from anxiety, depression, bereavement, stress, trauma, mental health, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), attachment disorder, neurodiversity, (ASD, ADHD etc), addiction, loneliness, pregnancy related issues, infant/baby loss, miscarriage, addiction, anger management, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), relationship difficulties, domestic violence, rape/sexual abuse, identity issues, self esteem, self harm, phobias, personality disorders, eating disorders, sexual identity, and work related stress. This list is by no means exhaustive.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
My premises are in an external building, which is not overlooked, ensuring complete privacy. I offer a warm, inviting and comfortable space, as can be seen in my introductory photos, which will allow you to relax, whilst you share your story with me.
Your first appointment will be an assessment session. This will be an opportunity for you to talk about the issues that are bringing you to therapy. Together we can identify any areas of concern, make obtainable goals, discuss how we might work together, and whether my approach is right for you.
If you decide you want to work with me, I supplement all my sessions with free limited email and text support, whichever is your preference. It can also be arranged for home visits in certain circumstances..
