The most creative act you will ever undertake is the act of creating yourself." "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." "You must do the thing that you think you cannot do." "Following another's path leads to who they are, not to who you are.
I have specialised in working with trauma. However I work with many client issues.
I work as an integrative counsellor, Integrative means that I draw upon knowledge and understanding from across the range of psychotherapeutic practice depending on your needs.
At some point, everyone experiences difficult periods in their lives. The issues individuals face and the way in which it affects them can vary greatly from person to person. During these times of adversity, it can feel very lonely and as if there is nowhere or no-one to turn to for support. The counselling process will provide you with time to explore the issues you are currently facing and develop the autonomy to find the best way for you to resolve these. My belief is to offer a safe space for the client to come talk about what’s going on for them.
Part of our first session together will involve an assessment process, where I will ask about the reasons for coming to counselling, gathering some information about both your background and present life as well as what hope to get out of the counselling process. This will help me to gain a better understanding of you and the issues you are currently facing.
I have experience working for CRASAC working with victims of sexual assault, also with KOOTH working with younger clients in schools.
I have personal experience working closely with people with additional needs. Particularly autism.
I can Ofer both long term and short term counselling.
