About me
I offer professional therapeutic services, both in-person and online, to adults from my warm and welcoming space in central Norwich. My counselling practice is built on genuine collaboration, authenticity, complete transparency, and unconditional acceptance. Through our work together, you'll discover fresh insights and new perspectives on your experiences, empowering you to move closer to becoming your truest self and finding deeper meaning, purpose, and clarity about your identity.
I have extensive experience supporting individuals through life's most challenging moments, including:
- The profound impact of cancer and its treatment on individuals and their families
- Bereavement and loss in all its forms
- Depression, anxiety, and feelings of loneliness
- Complex family dynamics and relationship difficulties
- Sexuality and gender identity exploration
- Self-esteem and body image concerns
- The lasting effects of past and present trauma
I also have considerable experience working with adults who have physical disabilities, hearing impairments, and those who are neurodiverse (including ADHD and Autism). My practice is wholeheartedly committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment where every client can express their authentic self without fear of judgement.
Collaborative practice
I work within a collaborative practice alongside other mental health professionals, including fellow therapists and a Child and Educational Psychologist, each offering their own unique specialisms and expertise. This collaborative approach means that should it be beneficial for your therapeutic journey, these colleagues can be accessed as an alternative to or in addition to working with me, ensuring you receive the most appropriate support for your individual needs.
What can you expect from the initial phone call?
Your first 30 minute telephone consultation is completely complimentary and entirely without obligation. During this relaxed conversation, we'll explore what's brought you to seek counselling and discuss your hopes and expectations - whether you're looking for short-term focused work or longer-term support, any previous counselling experience you might have, and your personal goals for our time together.
I'll also take a few moments to explain my therapeutic approach and answer any questions you might have. At the end of our chat, we can decide together, without any pressure, whether you'd like to book your first session.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a BSc (Hons) Degree in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling, complemented by an Advanced Certificate in Bereavement and Loss, and a Diploma in Relationship and Couples Counselling.
I have many years of experience working with bereavement and loss, death and dying, and existential issues. My expertise extends to group work, including bereavement groups, men's support groups, and life changes groups.
Beyond my private practice, I served as Counselling Lead at Big C, the respected Norfolk Cancer Support Charity. In this role, I managed my own client caseload whilst overseeing the organisation's counselling services across Norfolk, including supervising and supporting a dedicated team of counsellors.
I also have the privilege of delivering specialist training throughout the year to NHS Wellbeing and Talking Therapies services, focusing on understanding the effects of cancer and therapeutic approaches for working compassionately with cancer patients and their families.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
