About me

I have over 10 years experience of working with a wide range of issues including, depression, anger, anxiety, bereavement and loss, abuse, addictions, family or relationship difficulties. As an integrative therapist I believe that therapy is at its most effective when it is tailored to a client's personality and needs. I like to work using a person centred approach as my base method, drawing on differing theories and approaches to counselling to suit the individual needs of my clients.

I work from a safe environment, and offer you the opportunity in which to explore your presenting problems. My aim is to help you recognise your own personal power, and to then go on to develop and achieve your goals.

Regular sessions will give you the opportunity to reflect, and talk about how you feel, not just about yourself, but about those around you. It will also allow you the space to look at what is happening in your life at present and what has happened in the past. If we need to, together we can look and explore the affects of the past, and how it has an impact on the present, and how you are feeling, thinking and behaving right now.

I am also a qualified hypnotherapist. The Rewind Technique is a tried-and-tested approach to treating PTSD and phobias. It is a comfortable, effective treatment that can greatly reduce, and even remove, traumatic or phobic symptoms quickly. I do not in fact even need to know the details of what happened to you, to use the RT successfully.

For more info on the technique http://www.unk.com/blog/no-need-to-relive-the-trauma/]

I offer long-term, open-ended counselling, as well as short term work.

I run a home based counselling & hypnotherapy practice and offer a calm, comfortable, peaceful and safe environment for the therapy process to take place.

*I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation.
