If you choose me as your therapist, you will be working with someone who is trained, qualified and experienced. I organise my practice to offer a quiet and confidential setting where we can explore together what it is that brings you to therapy.
Sometimes the difficulties we experience in the present have something to do with the past and earlier relationships. It is through exploration in the therapy relationship that clarity, understanding and growth can occur.
I offer psychotherapy, counselling and supervision.
I can easily be reached from Cardiff, Barry and the Vale
During the Covid-19 pandemic I am offering face to face meetings online until such time as we can meet in person in my room in Penarth

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
UK Council for Psychotherapy
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I tend not to think about people as conditions or diagnoses, but rather as individuals who seek help that may have been labelled and may have found it helpful to be labelled. Whatever the diagnosis; it is making sense together and finding a language to describe experience that has more value and I believe enables relief and understanding.
Concessions offered for
£50 per 50 minute session.
Some lower fees available.
I offer mostly daytime appointments
I have been involved in counselling since 1983 and have many years experience offering counselling to adults. Until recently I worked as a counsellor in primary care and still work for Employee Assisted Programmes. Since 2000 I have offered both psychotherapy and counselling to individuals. Having personal experience of psychotherapy throughout training has contributed to my belief in the power of the therapeutic relationship that can develop over time and enable deeper understanding and experience of oneself. I am an integrative psychotherapist which means I bring together a way of being with, described as humanistic - and psychodynamic, which values human development and the way childhood patterns influence the present. Therapy with me provides a collaborative engagement in a safe environment where you are invited to speak, feel and reflect at your pace.
I am also a qualified and experienced supervisor of counsellors and psychotherapists and those in related professions.
My premises can be easily reached by public transport, being situated 5 minutes from both the station and bus stops.
