I am an independent, integrative counsellor, working predominantly Person-Centred. I provide emotional and psychological support to children, young people and adults in the North East of England, mostly in County Durham/Cleveland.
I work within Schools and Organisations delivering emotional and psychological support, but can work one to one with individuals on request.
My work within The Headlight Project, I work as a member of the team to offer my counselling services to support children, young people and adults that have been impacted and affected by suicide and traumatic bereavement.
I offer support to people with difficulties such as; anxiety, loss and bereavement, low mood, trauma and low self-esteem/confidence.
Within counselling sessions with clients, I use an integrative approach, by tailoring the counselling to individual clients, for their own needs.
I do believe it is important to adapt to individual needs and therefore regular reviews are put in place, to help guide the counselling in a way that suits.
I value individual difference, honesty, integrity, finding your own path, standing out from the crowd, connection and relationship.
I strongly believe people can be empowered to find their own answers.
I do know that I am not a fixer and I don't have all the answers, although I might have a suggestion or two.
If you would like to discuss further please feel free to ring me for a non-obligatory conversation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

I do offer mobile therapy appointments for all clients, appropriate venues will need to be sourced. I offer online therapy using Zoom.
For a referral for a child or young person, I would attempt to arrange these appointments at school in order to be least disruptive to the child's day.
It can be helpful to engage with school staff such as the Headteacher/SENCO to ensure everyone is working together to benefit the child.
If you do work at a school and are interested in my services, please contact me to arrange a free consultation.
