About me

Hi there,

My name is Jacy, a person centred, integrative counsellor, government registered, member of the BACP with professional liability insurance.

I've been working in primary care/GP surgeries and sixth form centres across Teesside for over ten years, giving me experience with a wide range of issues. I'm primarily a person centred counsellor, working with an integrative approach. Integrative means a therapist who works with different approaches to suit each individual. Person centred means it's all about you and your needs; we work together to find your answers. I often work with a creative approach when possible ie interactive drawing technique, expression cards, guided meditation (helpful with pain relief), spiritual awareness, personal growth and try to offer each client an individual service tailored to their needs. We are unique therefore one type of therapy doesn’t fit all.

Talking therapy is about giving yourself time for you, (me time) and is a specific time and place where you can express difficult thoughts, feelings and emotions, gain greater awareness of feelings, come to terms with difficult times in your life and move forward in a more positive way. This may be by finding new ways of coping, ways of resolving a situation or perhaps changing something. It's often difficult to talk with family members or friends about sensitive issues; talking therapy is non-judgemental, accepting, confidential and safe.

'Counselling and psychotherapy are umbrella terms that cover a range of talking therapies. They are delivered by trained practitioners who work with people over a short or long term to help them bring about effective change or enhance their wellbeing. (BACP definition)

If you would like to meet informally for information or an assessment of your needs, please contact me on the above number/email or via my Facebook page:

Please note that I'm having problems responding to to hotmail accounts therefore a call or different email address would be helpful.

Take care
