About me
Unfortunately I am unable to take on new clients at this time.
I understand how the current situation with Covid19 is a cause for worry for many different reasons. Certainly isolation may be one of them. All of us at some point in our lives experience difficulties. It can feel daunting finding the right therapist and even knowing how to describe what you are experiencing. Issues such as anxiety, chronic worry and low mood can impact heavily on your life. Having worked in a wide range of settings including G.P. Surgeries, emergency services and the workplace, I know that it’s important to tailor an approach which works for you. Talking therapies can provide some understanding; a different perspective that can give a new sense of clarity and a way forward.
Just as we all at times need to take care of our physical health, the same can be said of our mental health. Often we experience symptoms that cause disruption in our lives. Some common ones include:
Chronic worry
Anxiety
Sleep disturbance
Loss of interest in activities
Irritability
Reduced confidence
Tearful
Emotional eating
Psychotherapy has been shown to be beneficial to many people experiencing a wide range of emotional difficulties. I have expertise specifically in work related issues including workload pressure, difficult relationships with manager/colleagues. I also offer a coaching approach regarding personal development at work. This could include areas such as public speaking.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Transitions in life
Many times people struggle with life transitions. This could be going to University or perhaps going into the work place for the first time. Feeling overwhelmed or anxious can really have an impact.
Having worked with the Police service and the Military, I know how starting out in civilian life can often feel like another world. Having been in a job that is also a way of life, the world can suddenly become unfamiliar.
I have worked with many people over the years during those important events. I can support you and help you to adjust and find a meaningful way forward.
