About me

Have you experienced distress and upset or loss ? Unresolved issues that trouble you? Do you suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, PTS or depression ? Do you want to feel differently about the life you live or the person that you are. Perhaps you want to change aspects of you life for it to be more rewarding. Maybe you know that things are unlikely to change. Do you require a safe space where you can be heard, a place to share your thoughts and be understood. A place where being you is good enough. If you are 16 years old or heading into your 99th year, wanting to explore your world then it would be a privilege to support you.
As a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist and clinical supervisor who also works with hypnotherapy and Brainspotting, I will respond to your individual needs, working in a way that feels right for you. Having previously worked in the emergency services I have experience working with people who have gone through traumatic events and the effects this has on mental well being.
Meeting weekly or bi-weekly in a private and discrete location, offering short and long term integrative therapy which is available via morning, afternoon or evening appointments Monday to Friday being 50 min or up to 2 hours in duration.

The relationship between counsellor and client is important to the work that takes place. I offer a free initial phone consultation of 30 mins with no obligation to proceed. In this time we can discuss your needs and if working together is right for you.

My private counselling service is based in Kings Langley Hertfordshire a 15 minute walking distance of Apsley train station which is on the main line between London Euston and Milton Keynes or Edlesborough in Buckinghamshire. both are easily accessible from Berkhamstead, St Albans, Harpenden, Chesham, Bovingdon, Hemel Hempstead, Apsley, Watford, Luton, Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard and the surrounding areas. There is ample off road parking on private property at both locations.

127 Hempstead Road Kings Langley has a staircase entry to location, however walk and talk sessions can be offered at various local locations and beauty spots on mutual agreement (i.e. Dunstable downs, Ashridge National TrustEstate, Whipsnead Zoo etc.).

I also have rooms in Edlesborough, half way between Leighton Buzzard and Hemel Hempstead.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
