Having trained some 30 years ago in Person-Centred Counselling, I went on to qualify in Gestalt and Transactional Analysis before moving into Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in 1998.
I gained an MA in CBT in 2004 which served to complement my Social Work (CQSW) and MSc in Social Sciences.
I am a fully BABCP accredited CBT Therapist specialising in :
depression; anxiety disorder; OCD and phobia work; drug and alcohol misuse; self-harming behaviour; emotional and behavioural problems; sleep disorder; health anxiety and social phobia plus LGBT issues. I also specialise in working with people on the spectrum in particular Asperger's - from age 6 years upwards. I offer couple counselling and family therapy.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I believe that if anybody is helped to gain the right tools, it can make a significant difference to the quality of life. Why I love CBT so much is because it's collaborative, it's a joint venture, where I will learn as much from the person I'm working with as they might learn from me.
