About me
I can help you explore and better understand yourself and your relationships.
Hi, I'm Jacqui, a warm, caring integrative therapist who will work by encouraging you to find answers from within. I can help you discover the person you were before you drew conclusions from others. I believe we all have the power to choose who we want to be. There is only one person that we can change and that is ourselves and I can help you as you embark on this journey of discovery and growth.
Life’s pressures can sometimes make us feel unsure of ourselves and this can make us feel unhappy. Our true selves can get buried under the weight of conditioning and other people’s ideas of who we are, and we can lose sense of where we are going.
I have spent many years working with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, abuse, bereavement and relationship problems. I offer both short- and long-term counselling and I work in strict confidentiality and offer you non-judgemental, empathetic but challenging help.
So let's find different ways of dealing with life’s ups and downs. I offer a free initial telephone consultation where we will look at how we can work together effectively.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. I also hold a Pearson BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
Alongside my private practice, I have spent several years working as a counsellor at Kingston Women’s Centre. I have also been trained by Place2Be working at a school with children 5 - 18 years. As well as working in my private practice I am a school counsellor at Francis Holland School in Sloane Square.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
