About me
Thank you for viewing my profile. It’s really important to me that you feel comfortable with the counsellor you choose. I understand it’s a very big step sharing your thoughts & feelings with someone for the first time. Here you can find out a little more about me & how I work. Please feel free to send me a message if you have any other questions. You can find me on Facebook too. https://www.facebook.com/counsellingwithjacqui/
As an integrative counsellor I am excited to be able to offer you a relaxed environment that I hope can meet your needs. Having trained in multiple areas such as Person Centred, CBT, Gestalt and Mindfulness we can explore which works best for you and if needed we can change our focus to best meet your needs. Alongside speaking therapy and mindfulness I also use chair based activities and play. Using activities during therapy can be a great release and allow for a journey to flow when perhaps words won’t come.
I work with youth people, adults & families/small groups.
One of my specialist areas is working with young people aged 11-18 years inclusive. Some of the areas I have worked with include Depression, Anxiety, Self Harm, Phyical pain caused by overwhelming psychological pressure, Loneliness, Low self esteem, Anger, Grief, Loss and Behaviour issues.
My work with Adults covers many areas to include Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Self Harm, Suicidal thoughts, Worries and Grief. I have vast experience of working with adults in their 20’s, navigating life’s paths. Adult carers, those that are unwell themselves and supporting individuals in what can be some of their darkest moments. The feeling that your life is unraveling, stuck, overwhelming or out of your control are some of the feelings that I hear.
My work with families & small groups is based around communication and play for those with younger children. This allows children and adults to relax and interact with each other. These sessions are focused and will have a weekly purpose as agreed as a family unit. Setting up boundaries and learning how to communicate with each other are some of the areas we develop.
So how do we start our journey? Drop me an email, call or message & we can arrange our initial consultation, this is currently free of charge & holds no obligation. I believe it’s important for you to make an informed decision about this journey and therefor like for you to have the chance to meet me, ask questions and see my room. If you feel safe and comfortable then we can get your first session booked in. All information shared with me is held confidentially.
