Jacqueline Sheldon Dip.Coun (M.B.A.C.P)
Empathy is the greatest form of intelligence
Most people underestimate just how powerful their thoughts are in creating the world around them.
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor & member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
I would love to help you with whatever issue you have. whether you have been trying to resolve something for sometime or if something in the here & now is upsetting you a talking therapy maybe just the support you need to gain some clarity..
As an Integrative counsellor I enjoy working with different therapeutic tools to best suit the needs of my clients.I am able to work with a wide range of complex issues as they arise with congruence and autonomy. I have extensive experience in working with individuals, children and couples.
My specialism is working with young people creating a safe space for exploration and building resilience.
Anxiety becomes a problem for children when it starts to get in the way of their day-to-day life. Severe anxiety like this can harm children's mental and emotional wellbeing, affecting their self-esteem and confidence. They may become withdrawn and go to great lengths to avoid things or situations that make them feel anxious.
Anger and emotional overwhelm for young people can also be an issue.
The therapeutic service I offer supports young people so they can eventually regulate and mange their anxiety, anger, emotional overwhelm on their own.
This is done by;
Setting goals to mange not eliminate the issues.
Having positive expectations.
Respecting negative feelings but not empowering them.
Exploration of positive idea and solutions
Offering reassurance and nurture
Educating how to recognise their signs and triggers
Establishing good routines
Preparing for change
This service has given me the privilege to support many young people and their families to find clarity and peace.
If you think this service would be of use to you please don't hesitate in contacting me for more information
