I am an experienced Counsellor and Psychosexual Therapist offering short and long term therapy using CBT and psychodynamic approaches. The approach used will depend on what your problem is.
With my background in the NHS I have an understanding of a diverse range of issues including anxiety and depression. I have worked in primary care for sixteen years in the NHS dealing with patients presenting with such problems as well as many others including:
- relationship difficulties
- sexual problems
- low confidence
- work stress
- post traumatic stress
Anxiety is a common problem in today's world and usually can be easily addressed with a short course of cognitive behavioural therapy.
I have a special interest in relationships and also in infertility and have always specialised in couple counselling. I have been working with various clinics since 1998 in this field. I am a qualified couple therapist and spent over 17 years working at Relate. Currently I run a private practice alongside ongoing work with a fertility clinic. I know well the impact this treatment can have on couples and individuals and can offer a safe place to talk this through and navigate a positive way forward. I can also help you to develop some coping strategies when the going gets tough!
I offer all services to adults only. I offer short and long term therapy appropriate to what the client needs. I work in a integrative way using CBT techniques for short term focused work for example and perhaps a more psychodynamic approach for complex issues to do with relationship and self exploration.
Sex therapy covers all aspects of sexual difficulties and I help clients with erectile problems, vaginismus, loss of desire, premature and delayed ejaculation, difficulties with orgasm and all areas of sexuality. I find coming from a nursing background is really useful in working with clients with sexual problems.
Sex therapy involves exercises at home between sessions but all we do is talk! A programme is tailor made to address your specific issues and you work towards goals that you have set or if you are coming with your partner, goals you have both set. thus at the end of therapy you know whether you have reached all the goals you set out to.
if you want to know more about any of the therapies please do feel free to contact me.
I love my work with each client being so different; I enjoy working with them to explore what brings them to me and helping them reach a place where they feel better, more in control, at peace or whatever it is they want to be.

Therapy from £50 per session. Couples are £60
EMDR sessions last one and a half hours. Fees pro rata.
If you need to change or cancel an appointment a minimum of 24 hours notice must be given. This means on a Friday for a Monday appointment etc The full fee is payable if not as it prevents me filling the appointment.
Telephone and Skype are now frequently used by clients as a more convenient way of having counselling due to time pressures and as a way of avoiding further travelling.nit is obviously a very personal matter how you choose to work with a counsellor but I find both work well technology permitting!
Skype enables us to see each other and feels like we are in the room together. Telephone works really well if we have already met face to face at least once. However some clients love the telephone and it works really well for them irrespective of meeting first.
