About me

Hello and welcome! Thank you for clicking my profile.

Whether you're new to counselling or have had it in the past, looking for a counsellor can feel very overwhelming. I'll try to explain how I work as best as I can here, however please contact me directly if you have any questions.

I am a qualified counsellor based in Hampshire, offering appointments online, via phone and in your home (dependant on location and a confidential space being available). I can work with you on a short or long term basis dependent on your theraputic needs.   I have a wide range of theraputic skills and training (list below) which are all underpinned by a confidential, non judgemental and empathetic space for us to work together to help you process your emotions and explore new ways of being.

Sadness, low mood, low self esteem, a lack of self confidence and anxiety are just some of the more difficult aspects of the ebb and flow of life, however when they start to affect your wellbeing and daily routine, they can feel like the heaviest burden. You may have found that the pandemic has meant reliving old habits, routines and upsetting thoughts. There is no shame in finding things difficult, and by looking for a counsellor you have taken a positive step towards helping yourself go in the direction you want to.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I have completed Cruse Bereavement Care's course on "Working with Children and Adolescents", which means I can work with children as young as four on grief, whether somebody has died recently or historically.
