About me
Hello and welcome. Thank you for clicking my profile.
My name is Izzy Sturgess and I'm the owner of Jellyfish-Counselling, which is my private practice based in Pembrokeshire, West Wales.
Whether you're new to counselling or have had it in the past, looking for a counsellor can feel very overwhelming. I'll try to explain how I work as best as I can here, however please contact me directly if you have any questions.
My areas of specialist interest are:
- Anxiety
- Bereavement and Grief
- Negative Thinking Patterns
- Panic Attacks
- Self Harm
- Suicidal Thoughts
I am a qualified counsellor based in Pembrokeshire offering appointments face to face, online and over the phone. I work with children, young people, and adults. I can work with you on a short or long term basis dependent on your theraputic needs. I have a wide range of theraputic skills and training (list below) which are all underpinned by a confidential, non judgemental and empathetic space for us to work together to help you process your emotions and explore new ways of being.
There is no shame in finding things difficult, and by looking for a counsellor you have taken a positive step towards helping yourself go in the direction you want to.
Let me know if you have any questions,
Izzy

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
