About me

Reasons for having Counselling

You might be struggling with your mood – stress, anxiety, fight and flight, overwhelmed.

You tend to focus on others, and their needs, to the detriment of your own - in your relationships and career.

Does this lead to confusion, anger, guilt and the need to withdraw?

It might feel like you’re in a vicious cycle.

There is a way out.

My approach

A solution-focused approach, embedded in well-established therapies – CBT,  Psychodynamic and EMDR.

I encourage having clear goals and collaboration for better outcomes.

I specialised in brief therapy, focusing on a particular issue.

When to have therapy?

Asking for help can be daunting and you might question whether it’s worth the investment of your time and energy as you seem to be managing your everyday life.

Maybe, if you’re really honest with yourself, it feels like going through the motions and not living.

Imagine one day, looking back at your life – what would your Wise Self advise you to do now?

Why work with me?

I have been a counsellor for almost 10 years.

I worked in charities and the NHS before being in private practice.

Part of my work is to empower clients by sharing the latest research, and tools for better self-care. This includes the weekly emails 'Tuesday Wind Catcher' and 'Lazy Sunday Catcher'.

Where to find me

I’m based in Worcester. I also provide online (Zoom) sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed a BA Honours in Counselling with a first (1st) from Middlesex University London in 2014.

I'm an EMDR practitioner. I trained with EMDR Association UK.

I have a certificate in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) Skills for Depression by IAPT (NHS) West Midlands.

The main focus of IPT is to help clients to learn to link mood with interpersonal events and to recognise that by appropriately addressing interpersonal situations they may improve both their relationships and their symptoms.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
