About me

I am an experienced therapist accredited by the British Association of Behavioural Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP), with considerable experience working in the NHS and privately. I provide evidence based treatment for a variety of disorders such as:

  • Depression
  • Generalised anxiety
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Social phobia
  • Phobias
  • Panic disorder
  • Health anxiety
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder.

I offer a treatment plan based on a detailed assessment of your needs, and I have also provided medico-legal reports for immigration or road traffic accidents. My remit is to provide the best options for you based on a mutual understanding and secure therapeutic relationship. This would be established in the first few sessions and would shape the treatment plan. In addition to CBT, I also provide eye movement desensitisation reprocessing (EMDR) which is a recommended treatment in the guidelines for trauma by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE guidelines). I have also got considerable training in compassion focused treatment and use this as part of my interventions as and when required.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked in the field of mental health for 10 years, and during this period I have had considerable amounts of training from Psychologists & Psychotherapists. I have completed a Post graduate certificate in Psychotherapeutic interventions which is for milder cases of depression & anxiety. I have also completed a Post graduate diploma in CBT at University of Reading, with further training in compassionate focused therapy through the CFT foundation. I am also trained in behavioural couples therapy and am able to treat couples with relationship difficulties. As mentioned above I also have trained as an EMDR therapist and can provide this as an intervention for trauma.
