Ingrid Bresnahan Dip Couns. MBACP (Registered)
Thank you for looking at my page. My name is Ingrid and I offer counselling for many issues including depression, anxiety, family & relationship difficulties, addictions and work problems. All of these may leave you feeling challenged, exhausted and searching for support, possibly impacting on your enjoyment of social activities. Reaching out for help can be daunting but I hope that by reading the service I can offer you will feel able to contact me and make the first step to feeling better.
A Little Bit about Me and My Experience
I am a registered BACP integrative counsellor with additional training in systemic practice. I offer sessions with children, families, individuals and couples. I work within the BACP Ethical Framework ensuring that you will get a professional service to meet your individual needs.
I have over 25 years experience working alongside families and their children. I have extensive knowledge of family, individual and childhood difficulties, helping me to understand the problems people can encounter, adding to my 12 years working daily within mental health and well-being agencies.
I am also part of a group of professionals offering support to women throughout their life cycles called "Circle for Women's Vitality" which helps to promote the importance of emotional wellbeing.
I have volunteered in a drug & alcohol agency counselling individuals through addiction recovery and their families.
What do I offer?
I offer evening and weekend sessions in a comfortable private room, with free parking.
My sessions are confidential and non-judgemental, providing a space where we can work together to explore the most suitable therapeutic support to meet your individual needs. Helping you to think, talk through your situation and gain a better understanding of your feelings while processing your thoughts on a journey to change and self awareness.
I offer an initial first appointment to enable us to meet and explore what you want from your sessions, ask any questions you may have and look at the different types of therapy available.
I understand that making the decision to seek help may be tough which is why this session together is important to help you feel reassured and is not a commitment to further sessions if you chose. Should you decide to continue then I would normally recommend a minimum of 6 sessions with a review at week 5, these are usually weekly but this can be explored when we meet. Family and couple work is usually less regular after the first few sessions.
Please call me for further information.
