Ingrid Bresnahan Dip Couns Registered MBACP (Accred) & Supervisor
Thank you for looking at my page. My name is Ingrid, I am a BACP accredited counsellor offering sessions for issues including depression, anxiety, family & relationship difficulties, addictions and work issues. Mental health problems can leave you feeling challenged, exhausted and searching for support, possibly impacting on your enjoyment of life and social activities. Reaching out for help can be daunting but I hope that by reading this you feel able to contact me and make the first step to positive change and accessing help.
My Experience and Background
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor with additional training in systemic practice and also hold a supervision qualification. I offer sessions with families, individuals and couples. I work within the BACP Ethical Framework ensuring that you will get a professional service to meet your individual needs.
I have over 25 years experience working alongside families and their children in various capacities. I also work for a Wellbeing charity as a Senior Practitioner during the week. I have extensive knowledge of family, individual and childhood difficulties, helping me to understand the problems people can encounter, along with multiple years working daily within mental health and well-being agencies.
I have volunteered in a drug & alcohol agency counselling individuals through addiction recovery and their families.
What do I offer?
I offer day time Monday & evening sessions in a comfortable private room, with free on street parking and close to local bus and train services.
My sessions are confidential and non-judgemental, providing a space where we can work together to explore therapeutic support to meet your individual needs. Helping you to think, talk through your situation and gain a better understanding of your feelings while processing your thoughts on a journey to change and self awareness.
I offer an initial first appointment to enable us to meet and explore what you want from your sessions, ask any questions you may have and look at the different types of therapy available.
I understand that making the decision to seek help may be tough which is why this session together is important to help you feel reassured and is not a commitment to further sessions if you chose. Should you decide to continue then I would normally recommend a minimum of 6 sessions with a review at week 5, these are usually weekly but this can be explored when we meet. Family and couple work is usually less regular after the first few sessions.
Please call me for further information.
