About me

Taking the steps toward therapy can feel overwhelming. So I'd like to provide you with a summary free from jargon.

Have you ever tried to talk about your problems and felt no one was truly listening? Often our concerns are met with solutions and silver linings rather than real understanding.

I aim to provide a space for you to finally feel heard, giving you the opportunity to heal and process what may be happening for you. Through listening with a non-judgemental ear, I am able to gently notice and offer insights into your experience to enable a deeper understanding and growth.

I believe in empowering you as the client in working together to discover your own answers. You are the expert on your story, it is simply my job to support you in picking up the pieces and fitting them together when life has left you feeling lost.

I believe we are all unique and which is why I will work with you in determining what better wellbeing looks like for you...

Not every therapist is the right approach or the right fit, and that's okay! If this bio resonates with you, please call reception to book an appointment free from expectation, and I will look forward to speaking with you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have always felt compelled to support others and make a difference. Therefore I started work in health and social care administration until I came to the conclusion that I wanted a more frontline role when working with those in need of support.

Therefore in 2019, I took the first steps to becoming a Therapeutic Counsellor through the CPCAB progression route. Achieved qualifications include but are not limited to:

  • Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (CSK-L2)
  • Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies (CST-L3)
  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (TC-L4)

I completed my studies with Adept Central who provide an integrative course with a foundation in the person-centred, non-pathologizing approach.

During some of this time, I worked in substance misuse as a YP recovery worker supporting those with addiction and raising awareness through education and harm reduction.

Following this I began working in an SEN school, supporting children with Autism, ADHD and other additional needs which has equipped me with a compassionate understanding and ability to work with those who are neurodiverse.

This is still my current role part time, which compliments my other position as a senior therapist at Serenity Support Services. I have been counselling at Serenity for just short of 2 years where I have worked with a number of clients with a diverse range of issues from anxiety and depression to trauma, infidelity, bereavement and OCD.

If you would like to know more or have any further questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

In my counselling approach, warmth, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude are at the core. I strongly believe that each individual is unique, and I tailor my techniques to meet the specific needs of my clients. My areas of expertise encompass youth and adolescent counselling, emotional regulation, trauma and abuse recovery, anxiety and depression support, neurodiversity and autism support, as well as self-esteem and identity development.

I firmly believe in the innate potential for growth and healing within each individual. As a counsellor, I see myself as a guiding light, helping my clients discover their strengths and inner resources to overcome life’s challenges. I work collaboratively with my clients, empowering them to make positive changes and navigate through difficult experiences with resilience and courage.
