About me

I can help you find the right tool(s) for you to help yourself.

We all experience a wide range of feelings, such as personal loss, anxiety, grief, depression, anger and may have problems at home, at work, with relationships and many others.  If you need a professional, confidential, friendly ear, you can find one here.

I have worked with Macmillan (Leighton, Crewe), supporting cancer patients, carers, family members, the bereaved and many others (see this link).  I hold an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy and have been teaching yoga since April 2011.  I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and National Counselling Society (NCS).  I have a lot of very varied life-experience, and I began to study counselling after various personal losses and traumas, learning not only that it IS 'good to talk' - it can be vital.  I believe that a client needs their own space to discover themselves and understand what they need, and though I can help facilitate this process, you must be prepared to work for yourself within therapy, and reap your own rewards.  I feel it is most important that you find the right therapist for you before you begin your journey of healing.

I am a yoga teacher and also practice mindfulness meditation.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
