Hilary Marshall, MBACP (accred.)
I am person-centred counsellor, meaning I design the session with you. Some counselling styles are more directive than others. For example, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy [CBT] tends to be task centred and more directed than psychodynamic therapy which looks at the impact of early life. Creative therapies help to involve body, spirit and the unconscious. I work with you to decide the style that is best for you.
I work alongside a fully trained personal trainer who is able to help if we feel that physical exercise will help you to change behavioural and thinking patterns. This is entirely your choice.
We have a private gym available and private woodland. Both are in Horsmonden, West Kent.
I counsel adults and I have over 9 years of experience working in the community and in a residential rehab. as a counsellor and group therapist for those struggling with a wide range of addictions including eating disorders and high anxieties, I have worked with the AA 12 step programme.
I have worked as a school counsellor and I am an experienced foster carer who is aware of the different attachment patterns that impact our lives. I counsel children and young people.
