Registered Counsellor MBACP

About me

I am a warm, friendly, jargon free counsellor, offering a healthy balance of empathy and challenge. Whatever difficulties you're facing, whether it's an issue you know well or something that's just out of reach, we can work collaboratively to bring what's hidden into awareness.

Some of the things people come to me for are:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • loneliness
  • grief and loss
  • relationship issues
  • low self-esteem
  • shame

I also have an interest in working with creatives and the creative process and issues of identity, intersectionality and the effects of racism.

I offer sessions online, as well as face to face at Walthamstow Therapy E17.

How I work

My approach is based in Gestalt Therapy and I work with adults over 18 on an individual basis.

As a Gestalt therapist, I work with you to explore thoughts, feelings and body responses, revealing what's unfinished from your past, and how those experiences may be showing up in your present. Understanding your unique patterns of relating, can raise self-awareness and help you make choices with clarity. Giving you the energy to reconnect to yourself, others and the world.

Next steps

I offer a free 20 minute phone chat to get a sense of one another, as I believe the co-created relationship between therapist and client is the foundation from which healing and growth can take place.

After that, If you are happy to continue we can schedule a first session, where we can discuss what's troubling you in more detail and talk about how we can work together. We can then arrange a mutually suitable day and time for us to meet once a week.

If you'd like to arrange an initial chat, drop me an email and I'll be in touch as soon as I can.

Looking forward to being in contact with you.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
