About me
I am a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner with a Trauma therapy specialism. I have a private practice on the border of rural Derbyshire and Staffordshire, which enables clients to be seen in an environment that is peaceful and relaxing. If you have experienced trauma, whether it be in childhood or adulthood, I am able to help you work through these experiences, offering different ways of working, tailored to your individual needs. I have over 22 years experience of working as a therapist and have a long history of working in the NHS, Higher Education Settings, The Voluntary Sector, Private Practice, also working as a Nurse and Midwife in my previous careers.
Working Together
As a trauma therapist, I am able to offer EMDR therapy, also Trauma Focussed CBT which are both NHS NICE guideline approved trauma therapy pathways. As an Integrative therapist I am able to offer Person Centred Counselling, Attachment based therapies, CBT and Mindfulness to help with a broad range of difficulties. Client choice is respected at all times.
I welcome the opportunity to work with you and for us to explore together how best I can help. We can look at different ways of working to establish what feels most comfortable for you. Your safety and wellbeing throughout therapy are paramount and my adherence to the BACP and EMDR Europe Professional and Ethical Framework ensures a professional service.

Member organisations
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
