Hello, my name is Helen and I am a fully qualified Person Centred counsellor. I am passionate about the ethos behind this type of counselling, as it is rooted in the belief that the client is autonomous and knows their own feelings better than anyone else, as they are living them every day. Only you know how experiences have affected you and what direction you want to move towards to feel like the real you again. I believe that we should all be free to be autonomous without feeling judged or criticised by others, no matter who they are.
Life can be difficult at the best of times; however, in this current climate, it may seem especially hard. This could be affecting your work or home life and having a negative impact on your relationships. I have experience working with trauma, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem amongst many other life changing events.
I know first hand how difficult it can be to find the right counsellor, someone who you feel comfortable and safe with and able to work through what is causing you emotional distress. That is why at The Quiet Sanctuary, you will experience a non judgemental safe space, where you can rediscover yourself in confidence. I will not offer advice, but I will listen and offer respect unconditionally. What ever issues you are experiencing, I will follow you through your therapeutic journey to self discovery and self fulfilment.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
