About me
I am a friendly and supportive BACP Registered and Accredited Counsellor and EMDR therapist with over 15 years’ experience of offering therapy to a wide range of clients.
I have worked extensively with the NHS mental health teams, where I attained a PG Diploma in Person Centred, Experiential Counselling and EMDR qualifications. I have also practiced within privately funded and voluntary services as well as my own private clinic.
Are you struggling to live as fully as you would like to in your life? Maybe you are held back by old memories or experiences, or by fears and anxieties for the future.
Together we could work on understanding and processing these difficulties so that you are able to make choices in your life for the future, that are based on meeting your needs in a positive and life enhancing way.
I would offer you a space where you could start to feel safe to explore the issues that are bothering you. Where your experiences would be valued and met without judgement and where you will be treated with respect and acceptance.
We would work collaboratively together, allowing you to bring the things that you consider important and to move at a pace that you are comfortable with. If you feel that it would be helpful, we could look at specific interventions like EMDR or CBT tools and techniques that may enhance the therapy. (EMDR is a therapy that uses eye movements or tapping to help the brain to desensitise and reprocess issues from the past that are causing you distress in the present – it is a NICE approved treatment for PTSD – I would be happy to explain more about this therapy if you are interested in this option).
I welcome the opportunity to work with you and value the experiences that my clients bring to me and the privilege of sharing your experiences and supporting you to find the resources and understanding that you need.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
