About me
It’s so important to find a counsellor that you feel you can build a trusting relationship with. Therefore, I offer a free 30 minute appointment to enable you to understand what I can offer you. I work with a person centred approach that can incorporate working creatively to explore your deepest thoughts. If you prefer, I also offer Walk and Talk therapy. Being out in the fresh air can offer you more freedom to talk, it reduces anxiety and can improve physical health. It’s a way of connecting safely face to face in these current times.
Change in our lives happen for a variety of reasons. It can arrive unannounced and unexpected-turning our world upside down. I’m here waiting to support you to work through the turmoil and roller coaster of emotions.
If you feel overwhelmed by grief and loss or anxiety? Unsure of who to share those inner thoughts with? I would be privileged to offer you my counselling services and experience of caring and supporting people through some of their most difficult times. Having worked in the care sector in the community for social services, disability services and school for 30 years, I have had the honour to support men, women and young adults in times of loss. Loss of a loved one, relationships, careers, health. Grief caused by situations that changed your life; that you had no control over.
Active listening is a key part of counselling. In this modern world where there are so many ways to stay connected we can often feel extremely isolated and alone. I can offer you a safe, confidential space where you can feel valued and respected without judgement; time to explore what is at the heart of those thoughts that very often get buried or are too emotional to think about let alone voice. the anxiety , thoughts and often guilt are so overwhelming, there is no escape.
Currently, my sessions are via telephone or online or Walk and Talk therapy.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
