Helen Marton MACC-Reg
Therapist working with individuals, families, couples and young people.
There can be times in our lives when we face difficulties and painful situations; it’s in these times when talking to someone can help. Family and friends can be very helpful but sometimes we need to talk to someone who we don’t know who can listen to us impartially, with empathy and in confidence.
I am a positive, warm and experienced therapist running my own private practice. I have also worked in local charities and many secondary, primary and private schools in Bath and the surrounding area. Alongside my private practice I work as Head of Counselling in a busy counselling agency where I work with children, teenagers, adults and families. I am also the Chair with the Family Counselling Trust, Banes working with families. I am currently studying a post graduate certificate in supervision and offer discounted rates for supervisees. I also deliver bespoke training days and mentor counselling trainees.
I would describe my counselling approach as integrative drawing on person-centred, transactional analysis, psychodynamic, CBT, systemic and the spiritual in a significant way.
I have many years of experience and working for two charities has given me vast experience with a range of difficulties and presenting issues. I provide a safe and confidential space for you to explore your concerns without judgement. All of your thoughts and feelings are important and need to be heard and honoured to gain understanding.
If you want to find out more, please call me to leave a message or email me and I will make contact with you within 24 hours. I am happy to speak with you on the phone before we meet if you will find that useful.
All face to face appointments are 50 minutes and at our first meeting we will have the opportunity to explore what is bothering you and think about whether therapy is right for your at this time.
I work short and long term, whichever suits you and this is something we can discuss when we first meet. Once we have agreed to work together, will decide on suitable times to meet.
