About me

"Thoughts disentangle themselves when they pass through lips and fingertips"

It is so important that we pay attention to our thoughts and feelings and intentionally share in a safe, confidential relationship when we can. I have many years of experience as a Family Worker, Mentor, and Counsellor. I offer short term counselling and long term psychotherapy.

I work with all ages but specialise in work with children and young adults to help them develop coping strategies for stress and anxiety. I can help the families and carers affected by such distress. I am particularly experienced in areas of grief, trauma and loss.

"When little people are overwhelmed by big emotions, it's our job to share our calm not to join their chaos" (L.R.Knost) but what if we struggle to find that calm ourselves? I can help you out of your place of chaos.

My approach is person-centred, integrative and creative - tailored to your individual needs or that of your child. I accept referrals from GP Practices, EAPs and any organisation looking to provide support for their staff.

Sessions are currently offered online via Zoom and by telephone. I am a member of the BACP and all my work is carried out in accordance with their ethical guidelines.

An initial consultation is free so that we are comfortable about working together. I offer discounted fees for key workers and where money is a concern.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
