About me
Hi, I’m Helen, a fully qualified integrative Counsellor covering Hale, Altrincham, Wilmslow and surrounding areas.
I have many years’ experience providing therapy and I believe in working with clients to understand their concerns in a friendly and non-judgemental manner. My experience has been gained working in the NHS as well as the private and voluntary sectors. I have had the opportunity to work with adults and young people with such issues as adult mental health, trauma, gender identity, anxiety, health anxiety, addiction, stress, relationships and women’s mental health and well-being.
I offer a combined approach to therapy, working face to face, (or online such as zoom) and believe in building a trusting and safe working relationship to explore and analyse issues. This allows me to establish a collaborative way of working to identify the areas of concern which can then be processed through therapy. The combined approach allows me to draw upon a number of evidence-based therapeutic models, including Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) alongside Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA)
I am registered with the professional bodies, British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and British Psychological Society (BPS), undertaking professional supervision and I will shortly qualify as a Counselling Psychologist. This will allow me to offer in-depth analysis and a broader range of therapeutic solutions.
I offer both face to face and online therapy, and I’m also a Clinical Supervisor for counselling students and colleagues
My personal journey has allowed knowledge, wisdom, kindness with a sense of humour to influence my approach as a therapist. If you would like to contact me we can discuss your concerns and I can offer insights as to how I can help.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
