About me
Hello, I’m Helen, a chartered Clinical Psychologist specialised in supporting young people aged 3 to 25 and their families. I work with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), stress related to school or work. I also offer guidance for parents dealing with common concerns such as managing challenging behaviour, sleep issues, separation anxiety, and childhood fears and phobias. For more information about me and what I offer please see my website.
In today’s society, being young adult presents unique and often overwhelming challenges. The pressures of school, social media, relationships, and personal identity can take a toll on mental health. Equally, being a parent navigating these pressures can be incredibly challenging, as you work to support your child while managing the emotional impact on the whole family.
I understand how difficult it can be to seek help, especially in the younger years, when emotions can feel confusing and overwhelming. My approach is warm, empathetic, and collaborative, creating a safe space where individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered to develop resilience and effective coping strategies.
In addition to my private practice, I lead a Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) team in the NHS, providing mental health support directly within primary and secondary schools. This role has given me valuable insight into the modern-day challenges faced by children, teens, and parents alike.
Whether you're a young person facing difficulties or a parent seeking guidance, I’m here to help. Together, we can work through these challenges, helping families build stronger, healthier relationships and create a path to emotional well-being. If you're looking for support, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m here to listen.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of NHS experience and hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Canterbury Christ Church University. I work part-time for the NHS as a Clinical Lead for a Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) team that provides mental health support within primary and secondary schools across a London borough. In this role, I offer individual interventions, group sessions, and workshops for young people and their families, as well as provide training and consultation to school staff.
I apply a range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Narrative Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). This diverse skill set allows me to tailor interventions to the unique needs of each individual and family I work with.
