About me

I am an experienced Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the HCPC and British Psychological Society. In addition to my independent practice with Hampshire and Surrey Psychology I have worked in the NHS in a variety of settings for 12 years.

Perhaps you are experiencing emotional distress or seeking to change some aspect of your personal or working life? You may simply be feeling stuck and want things to be different, without knowing exactly what you wish or need to change.

I provide psychological assessment and therapy based on clinical research evidence of 'what works' and follow treatment recommendations published by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). I offer a confidential and collaborative space to individuals (16 years +) and couples. Sessions can be structured around particular goals you wish to achieve or can provide a reflective space for you to explore how you are feeling at the moment.

Please contact me if you wish to have an informal discussion or ask specific questions before deciding whether to book an initial appointment. This first appointment will identify specific areas you wish to address and guide a treatment plan. I am able to provide either short or longer-term therapy input depending on your specific needs. Hampshire & Surrey Psychology offers appointments in numerous locations across Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and Berkshire. I currently work in Hindhead.

In addition to my private practice, I have 12 years of experience in the NHS working in a range of settings including adult mental health, forensic and secure services, child and adolescent and hospital settings. I have completed specialist training in chronic pain, neuropsychology and physical health, which has enabled me to develop a holistic view of psychological distress.

I am trained in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and incorporate other therapeutic models in my work, including cognitive analytic therapy, compassion-focused and brief solution focused approaches. Specific treatment approaches are tailored to an individual's needs and preferences and will be discussed at the assessment sessions.

Health and Care Professions Council

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Photos & videos

The initial assessment usually lasts and hour and a half, subsequent sessions just under an hour. Hampshire and Surrey Psychology is a private practice but we are also committed to helping people to access the evidence-based psychological therapies recommended by NICE (the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) such as CBT and DBT. So, if you are on a lower income please talk to us as we may be able to offer a discounted fee or spread the cost of therapy for you.

If you are claiming through a private healthcare provider you may need to check whether you need a referral from your GP or a psychiatrist. Normally we would be able to claim the cost of the sessions directly from the provider. We are registered with major insurance providers e.g. BUPA, AXAPPP etc.
