I won't tell you what to do but together we can explore whatever you bring, enabling you to feel better or clearer; supported in the decisions and way forward that are right for you . Counselling can also help you come to terms with what can't be changed .

In order to help as effectively as possible ,and fit with your needs , I offer both short and long term counselling with flexibility regarding frequency and length of sessions , as well as venue.
Counselling is probably more common than people think, helping in many areas - anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self esteem,abuse and health issues as well as being a valuable resource for self awareness and development.
It can be effective at times of normal, if challenging life transitions such as bereavement, loss, menopause, childbirth, retirement or career change -all situations where you might feel lost or not yourself.
Counselling can help you to make progress,,feel supported and safe, getting to where you want to be, or can help you come to terms with what can't be changed.

Like all counsellors, i have regular supervision , and insurance.
I am a qualified counsellor and a Registered , Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, whose code of conduct and ethical framework I adhere to.
I have 6 y rs experience working as a successful counsellor in the NHS ( a busy GP practice) ;
I have worked in the voluntary sector within a domestic abuse service,
and have a private practice at my home in central York. I have also worked with clients at their home.
