Would you like to feel better - to feel listened to and understood; to have space to explore what's going on for you, with someone who will respect and won't judge you, and will help you feel more able to cope?
You've probably made the first step in getting some help for yourself, just by looking on this directory. I hope I can help you find what you need.
You might feel in a mess; scared or confused ; want to be less depressed, stressed or anxious. Perhaps you want to increase your self esteem, explore issues or make changes.- The right, effective counselling relationship for you, can help whatever your reason for seeking counselling.
Clients of mine say how much they value and have gained from feeling really listened to and understood . They often say they feel respected and not judged ,- sometimes for the first time ever. Clients often comment that they felt stronger as a result of counselling with me, and more able to trust their instincts, needs and decisions .
I won't tell you what to do but together we can explore whatever you bring, enabling you to feel better or clearer; supported in the decisions and way forward that are right for you . Counselling can also help you come to terms with what can't be changed .
I trust that you are the expert in yourself, and can reach your potential. From a basis of respect and equality i will try to understand you and your world, and work with you to facilitate the changes you seek.
In order to help as effectively as possible ,and fit with your needs , I offer both short and long term counselling with flexibility regarding frequency and length of sessions , as well as venue.
Counselling is probably more common than people think, helping in many areas - anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self esteem, abuse and health issues as well as being a valuable resource for self awareness and development.
It can be effective at times of normal, if challenging life transitions such as bereavement, loss, menopause, childbirth, retirement or career change -all situations where you might feel lost or not yourself.
Counselling can help you to make progress,,feel supported and safe, getting to where you want to be, or can help you come to terms with what can't be changed.
I have successfully worked with clients in all of the areas detailed above.
Evidence shows, and the person-centred approach reflects , that it is the quality of the counselling relationship that is key to facilitating genuine and lasting change.
Comments from my past clients include:
"I see things in colour now rather than grey"
"I realised I had choices"
" I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you "
" I feel you really understand and didn't judge me"
" I see some light at the end of the tunnel now"
"It hasn't been easy and sometimes there were two steps forward and one back, but I've come such a long way"
I very much look forward to working with you and feel it a privilege to share in your therapeutic journey.
