About me

I provide a confidential and non-judgemental space in which we can together explore the issues which have brought you to this point in your life journey, supporting and enabling you to develop greater self-awareness and consider the choices that are open to you.

As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I am trained to work with a wide range of approaches. I believe in a whole person approach which takes into consideration the interaction between the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual or soulful aspects of ourselves and offer an empathic, non-judgemental space.

If you feel that I might be able to help you please contact me via telephone or e-mail and we can arrange an initial meeting within which we can discuss why you are looking for counselling and what you would like to achieve.  If you would like to go ahead we can then arrange to meet on a weekly basis, which we can regularly review together.  The length of time taken in therapy is very individual and I can offer short, medium and long-term support as required by the individual.  There is no fixed amount of sessions that you must 'sign up' for and you are free to leave at any time; it is my experience that counselling needs are very individual, however I have found that a minimum of six sessions are helpful to develop a supportive therapeutic relationship within which difficult personal issues can be explored.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling and have worked in both voluntary and private practice.

I am an Accredited Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a Registered Member of The UK Council for Psychotherapy, and adhere to both ethical frameworks.   I am listed on the Accredited Register of the Professional Standards Authority, hold an up to date DRB and am Registered with the ICO for data handling. I also hold a current First Aid Certificate.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
