About me

Covid 19 : If you are looking for Counselling or Relationship Therapy in person, I have made arrangements to see clients safely at my centrally located Shrewsbury town office. If you require more details please contact me by 'phone, email or message. Heather

Relationships with partners, family, friends and colleagues play a big part in how happy we are. There is a clear link between our relationships and both mental health and wellbeing. I can help you make the most of your couple or family relationship, past, present or future. I can also help if you are currently not in a relationship.

I can help you with issues surrounding infidelity and affairs.

I can help you navigate your way through the menopause and other midlife challenges, enabling you to emerge healthier and stronger in mind and body.

As a couple counsellor I have been trained to work with a sexual focus, when sex goes well it is a positive integral part of your relationship. However when either of you are not happy with your sex lives it assumes a more powerful role, effecting your relationships intimacy and closeness. We will work together to rekindle intimacy and desire by sharing feelings, concerns, vulnerabilities and promoting empathic communication.

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor. I work with individuals couples and families to help alleviate their distress. Some of the concerns that people bring to me for help are problems with relationships, anxiety and depression.

Problems can occur at home and at work. I also offer counselling for people who are feeling the pressure in their working environment. Occupational stress is common in many jobs and especially so in any job where you are required to 'give a lot of yourself' . I am the retained staff counsellor for a local FE College.

I provide personal therapy for students undertaking counselling courses. My style of counselling is to explore problems from my clients perspective, to understand how they feel and thereby develop a clear understanding of their difficulties and concerns we then work together to resolve them.

I offer affordable counselling in a private, safe and comfortable consulting room where you will not be asked to wait in a public waiting room and there are toilet facilities.

I am well qualified holding an MA in Relationship Therapy and a Diploma level Counselling qualification. I am a Registered and Accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists which means that my practice has been deemed to meet the BACP's higher standard as a competent, ethical and independent practitioner.

I have worked for Relate Shrewsbury, Herefordshire and Staffordshire for a number of years as a Counsellor working with individuals, couples and families. Relate training equips the counsellor to offer relationship counselling which is supported by the latest research and good practice.

The Family counselling I offer is for family members who are looking for help in resolving difficulties and concerns in their relationships with one another. By family it can mean any family member of any age i.e.young people, parents, single parents, heterosexual or same- sex couples, adult siblings, and grandparents.
