About me
Pleased to meet you, I’m Heather, co-owner of C&H Psychotherapies. If you are viewing this profile then things may not be great for you, or your child. You may be a young person yourself and seeking a therapist that you can connect with. A felt sense that you are different, even from a young age, can be incredibly difficult. I offer a safe space for working psychologically with marginalised and oppressed groups; in particular those people who identify as belonging to the LGBTQIA+ communities. Please feel free to visit www.chpsychotherapies.com or call on 0330 043 3970 for more information.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I have worked in the mental health field for over 8 years, first as a nurse and then as a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, where my career has taken me down the path of specialising in Children and Young People’s Mental Health; something I am deeply passionate about.
Therapy doesn’t need to be stuffy and formal; we will have some tough conversations, but these will be carried out in a relaxed and friendly environment so that we can break down those barriers together. I’ll be your biggest advocate and will show you unconditional compassion during your toughest times. You are not on your own.
