About me

Thank you for visting my website and I hope you find the information provided useful. I have been a practising therapist in the Weybridge area since 2000. I began my career in counselling at Brooklands College in 1995 working with students.

As a registered member of BACP, I am committed to providing therapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment and abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice (www.bacp.co.uk for more information).

‘The task of counselling is to give the ‘client’ an opportunity to explore, discover and clarify ways of living more satisfyingly and resourcefully’ (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).  It seems to me that the most important relationship, that of one's relationship with self, is often the most neglected. Working to understand, and accept, your own needs, emotions and behaviours may improve your ability to enjoy and sustain successful relationships with others.

Life is often complex and presents us with choices and challenges on a daily basis. I can offer space for you to talk through the things that concern or hamper you; assist you to explore the underlying causes of any current unhappiness, and develop strategies to enhance your life so as to provide more meaning.

Confronting and solving problems is a painful process which most of us attempt to avoid. This avoidance often results in greater pain, or even a sense of "numbness" and disconnection.  Counselling with me offers a safe and confidential place to explore present and past difficulties that may affect your current coping strategies.

Counselling is a process of self-discovery and change – to help you explore, understand and accept your feelings, ways of thinking and ways of being. For you to re-consider thoughts and behaviours that are no longer useful and cause you (and others) distress and to find a more satisfying life.

My role is to help facilitate the process of YOU finding true self-acceptance within yourself and ultimately find peace and contentment.

My Practice is within easy reach of Ottershaw • Addlestone • Chertsey • Shepperton • West Byfleet • Walton • Virginia Water • Woking • Esher • Cobham and Staines and very accessible from the M25

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
