Sarah Templeton ~ ADHD Specialist Counsellor & Coach MBACP. MAC.
Chances are if you’ve stumbled upon me, it’s because you are either diagnosed ADHD or are wondering if you are! You really have come to the right place because Headstuff ADHD Therapy Ltd and ADHD Therapy Ltd are the U.K.’s only specialist therapists who guarantee that every counsellor is diagnosed ADHD. This means we really understand your brain from the inside out.
I was 51 when a counsellor finally realised I had undiagnosed ADHD. So I have loads of empathy with adults who have been going through life knowing they are different, possibly encountering addiction or crime, always feeling they don’t quite see things as other people do but not knowing why.
If this is you, I offer a pre-assessment service where I collaboratively work with you to spot ADHD traits that you have and I can put you immediately on the path to diagnosis - if this is what you decide you want. I work very closely with ADHD specialist paediatricians and psychiatrists and I will handle the whole referral process for you. If you decide you would like to be assessed on the NHS I can help you with that referral process too.
I have a small team of hand-picked ADHD diagnosed counsellors working with me. These are dotted around England and Wales so you may well be able to see one of my team face-to-face wherever you are.
We all work by Skype, telephone and face-to-face so wherever you are we will be able to help you.
As an ex-prison counsellor, I have an absolute passion for keeping naughty ADHD teens out of prison. I have worked with numerous teenagers arrested, charged or on bail. Without exception, with my links to the best ADHD solicitors and barristers, we have kept every single one of them out of prison. So if your own teenager (or adult) is in trouble with the law please do get in touch.
If you are diagnosed ADHD we offer a full counselling and coaching service. All of our counsellors are fully qualified and diagnosed ADHD. A lot of them are parents of ADHD children. We can work with you on ADHD coping strategies as well as education around all things ADHD. We also specialise in working with parents to get the best out of their ADHD children.
So if anything ADHD is troubling you, you suspect you have the condition or you need help with ADHD children you are very welcome to contact me.
And if your child is anti therapy, I always say I am a jeans and T-shirt counsellor rather than a twinset and pearls one. I have yet to not bond with a teenager with ADHD!
Something else I’m very passionate about is the amount of misdiagnosis around ADHD. Particularly borderline personality disorder/emotionally unstable personality disorder is a diagnosis given to many when in actual fact it is ADHD they have. So if you have a diagnosis of BPD/EUPD but are unsure it fits, please contact me.
Addiction often goes hand-in-hand with ADHD. I am trained and qualified to work with addiction and very experienced working around the justice system.
All our counsellors are trained to work with every aspect of ADHD from managing the traits, coping strategies, self harm, medication titration, parenting ADHD children, relationships in trouble because of ADHD and psycho education.
If you think I or my team can help you, you are more than welcome to get in touch.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
