Finding the right Counsellor for you!
At Novo Counselling we know that finding the right counsellor or therapist can be a challenge and sometimes very frustrating. There are too many strange or clinical terms so it's difficult to make the right decision. We make it easy. We take the time to talk to you first, find out more about you and your needs; then we help match you with the right Counsellor. We’ll usually offer you your first session within a few days too!
Our Approach to Counselling and Therapy
Life is never easy, but when we're also carrying old and new burdens this can make it even harder. If you are reading this then the chances are you are looking to talk over things with someone. Our aim is to help you talk through these issues and concerns, in the hope to empower you to find your own answers, which will help you to move forward in a life you can choose for yourself.
Guilt, disappointment, helplessness, embarrassment, fear are all emotions we can suppress and hide from others to protect ourselves; but if ignored these negative emotions can manifest in self-destructive ways of thinking and living.
Counselling will help by looking at your past, present and future; also your relationships, family and work to see how that's all affecting you. We can explore your behaviour and beliefs and decide what is worth keeping and what you need to throw away. We aim to help you work towards a way of life that gives you peace and satisfaction for now and the future.
The first step is always the hardest. If you’re ready then call us on 0800 612 4426, or follow the link to Make an Appointment or simply click 'Email this counsellor' below. Finding us is easy too, we're towards the top of Bromley High Street - Get Directions to Novo Counselling.
We understand life can be difficult; we're here to make Counselling as simple and effective as possible!
Training, qualifications & experience
Unlike independent counsellors, each of our counsellors and psychotherapists has been carefully selected based on their training, experience, education, background, DBS security checking and professional ethics.
We are committed to ensuring the highest standards and ethics in everything we do which includes continuous professional development (CPD), supervision, training and coaching. All of our Counsellors are associated with the BACP or equivalent bodies.
To ensure we're providing the right level or care we offer a three-tier service:
Tier One - Senior Psychotherapist or Psychologist, with a Masters Degree or PHD, plus significant professional experience. Typically Tier One practitioners are Senior Accredited members of the BACP
Tier Two – Counsellors or Psychotherapists with a first Degree or equivalent plus professional experience. Typically Members or Accredited members of the BACP
Tier Three – Counsellors working toward their first Degree or equivalent plus relevant experience with mental health charities or similar therapeutic organisations. Typically Student members of the BACP

Member organisations *
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
