About me

Cornavirus will have affected us.  Anxiety and depression may feel heightened by worries around health, money, and may impact on your close relationships and work. But now could be the time to re-evaluate and make long overdue changes which will make you happier.

If you feel able we can meet in the calm space of my lovely, easily accessed ground floor room.  The room is arranged to maintain social distancing and is cleaned before each session.  Handwipes are freely available. So, if you feel able, we can still get together,

During these challenging times it i s moremportant than ever that you share your worries.

Together we'll find a way to put things right, your thoughts and feelings in order and look forward to the future.
Please be assured that anything we talk about here is treated with confidentiality, compassion and care.

If your problems needs to be sorted quickly we can meet 2/3 days a week for a concentrated focus or have extended 90 minute sessions. Or we can simply meet once a week, monthly or a one-off. Everything I do here is for you and how to help you make the most of your life.

I'm based in Palace Chambers, (behind the yellow door) on London Road, which is easily found between Waitrose and Stroud town centre. There is public car parking at the rear of the building.

My room is on the ground floor with easy access.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Client Comments:

I have worked with Hazel now on 3 or 4 occasions, for between 3 and 7 months each time. I have always found her attentive, professional, caring and compassionate. The safe space she creates and her skilfull handling of whatever arises have been invaluable to me. I have no hesitation in recommending her.                                              John Mac  Stroud

Thank you for helping me through my pregnancy, I was so scared. My marriage was in crisis.
You listened, guided and reassured me, I cried and laughed with you as we worked though my fears and doubts. My lovely girl was born today.

I love her so much.
Katie, Cheltenham

Thank you for your help and guidance. You have made the world of difference to us, you are truly worth your weight in gold. You have turned our lives around.
Debbie and Jason, Stroud

We hadn't spoken for days, but we left our session with you, holding hands and smiling.
Thank you so much.
Tony and Jen, Woodchester

You were great yesterday, Hazel. Really turned me around. I had a lovely evening with my wife and have started today with renewed optimism. You were great.
Thank you.
John, Stroud

Thank you for today. You are amazing, I don't think I could have carried on with out you. We have separated, but by talking it through with you we are a family at peace, not war.
Jo, Stonehouse

The first night in my new flat was great! Feel like I've been here for much longer than I have and feeling very relaxed! I managed to lie in after my first night! (Haven't been able to do that for months).
It didn't sink in till late last night and today on my way to work I was crying my eyes out, with relief and joy. I had a nice moment sat next to Mike and felt like all of a sudden I'd popped back up to the surface again, hard to explain but everything looked clearer, I recognised the old us again! Its going to be great!
Thank you so much for all your help.

Update: We're buying our first home together. So happy.
