I help people who are having a difficult time to feel better about themselves. With over 20 years experience as an accredited counsellor and humanitarian aid worker, I focus on practical techniques that let you take steps to a happier and more productive life. My skills and experience are fully accredited by the BACP.
Respecting your privacy, we shall work together, finding strategies to tackle the obstacles in your life allowing you to build a stronger relationship with yourself and those close to you.
My approach is reflective and centred wholly around you. I work with individuals and couples.
Who do I help?
I’ve helped people from a variety of backgrounds including professionals, aid workers and services/armed forces personnel.
I specialise in workplace stress and bullying, conflict at work or home, living with anxiety and/or panic attacks, road traffic accident trauma, relationship issues, couple counselling and coping with long term chronic illnesses. I also have experience of working with bereavement, post-natal depression and cultural related issues.
I am an approved counsellor with Aviva Health Insurance, Axa PPP and BUPA Healthcare.
Where am I based?
I am based in a discreet and relaxed room at 59 Wostenholme Road, Netheredge.
Counselling sessions are available face-to-face, via Skype, through email.
I also offer Walk Talk Therapy which combines walking and talking. We start at Cross Sythes in Totley or at Endcliffe Cafe or Longshaw Estate in the Peak District. It is ideal for those who are bereaved, suffering depression or post-natal depression.
I am an BACP Accredited counsellor. This means my practice has been deemed to meet the standard for a competent, ethical and independent practitioner. In addition my training has also met the standards required to gain entry onto the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapies Voluntary Accredited Register. This Register is approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care and provides assurance to clients that the counsellor offers good quality care.

I work within the BACP's Ethical Framework for Good Practice and BACP online counselling Ethical Framework for Good Practice. My work is confidential and is fully supervised by experienced and registered supervisors. I regularly engage in Continuing Professional Development and personal therapy. I am fully insured and have CRB clearance.
I have over 15 years experience working as a counsellor. I have previously worked at MIND, NHS and Trent CBT and have taught Counselling Skills at a local college. Prior to being a counsellor I spent 10 years as a Humanitarian Aid Worker working with small communities in conflict. Additionally, I work for the Refugee Centre providing therapeutic support for Syrian Refugees. All this work is carried out through interpretation.

I am trained as an online counsellor and can also offer online counselling via Skype, email and Instant Messaging. Online counselling is an appealing alternative for clients who are out of geographical area, work away, for clients who live in remote places, those with difficulties with transport or childcare costs and also when illness or disability would prevent someone from accessing counselling. My counselling fees are £45 a session for individuals in the daytime and £55 for couples for daytime appointments. Evening appointments there is a £5 surcharge.
My supervision fees are £45 per hour for face to face or skype supervision. I offer 1 place for reduced rate for trainee every year.
