About me

I am a humanistic counsellor providing remote counselling sessions for adults through TEAMS, as well as in-person walk-and-talk sessions for individuals residing in Waterlooville. The scheduling of sessions is flexible to accommodate clients with varying work shifts. Additionally, I offer evening sessions to enhance accessibility for those with daytime commitments.

I have selected humanistic counselling as my approach due to my firm belief in its ability to facilitate self-discovery and the realisation of one's full potential. The counselling sessions will be client-led, allowing you to determine the topics you are most comfortable discussing. My role will be to assist you in reflecting on your feelings, thoughts, and actions. I will provide an environment characterised by empathy and congruence, accepting you as you are, without any judgment. Your personal growth is my priority, and I am dedicated to supporting you throughout this process.

Apart from my private practice, I also work at the Hampshire Sexual Assault Referral Centre, providing support to victims of sexual assault and rape. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the trauma these individuals endure. I have worked with people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities in this challenging environment.

I have worked for TalkingTherapies as a volunteer counsellor, having worked with clients experiencing general anxiety, depression, low moods, stress, and grief. As well as having also volunteered for a bereavement charity as a counsellor.

Training, qualifications & experience

BSc (Hons) humanistic counselling.
Registered member of the BACP.

Currently working at the Hampshire sexual assault referral centre with a diverse range of victims, so I have experience in understanding the trauma victims go through.

Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems.

Two and a half years of being an active counsellor for a charity and the NHS. I am still working for the NHS. I volunteered for a bereavement charity, so I have plenty of experience working with clients dealing with grief. In my current active counselling position with the NHS, I am working with clients dealing with low mood, grief, anxiety, and depression.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
