About me

Hello, I’m Hayley, a person-centred counsellor (MA, MBACP) offering online and in-person sessions for adults in Stockport, Heaton Moor and surrounding areas.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or low, I’m here to offer a calm, supportive space where you can explore whatever’s going on, at your own pace. Whether it’s anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, low self-esteem, or burnout, I aim to build a safe, trusting relationship where you feel heard, accepted and are able to be yourself.

I have specialist experience supporting neurodivergent clients and carers of disabled or autistic young people. As a parent carer myself, I understand first-hand how isolating it can be to navigate diagnoses, education systems, and a lack of support. This insight helps me offer compassionate support that meets you where you are.

You might be dealing with:

Anxiety or panic attacks
Depression or low mood
Autism, ADHD or neurodivergence
Eating difficulties or body image issues
Bereavement or loss
Relationship or family issues
Work-related stress or burnout
Low self-confidence or perfectionism
Feeling sad, lonely, or misunderstood
If you're new to therapy or returning after time away, I’ll meet you gently, without pressure or assumptions. I'm happy to answer any questions about how I work.

Fees
£20 first session (to see if we’re a good fit)
£30–£40 per session (you choose what feels manageable)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
