About me

Hello! Welcome to my Counselling Directory Page.

I'm Harrison. I am a warm, friendly and down to earth counsellor ready to help and support you on your counselling journey. I am a qualified integrative therapist, this means I have the training, knowledge and experience working with different theories within counselling, these are Person Centered Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA). In short, this means I tailor our counselling sessions to best suit your needs.

I have a passion and enthusiasm for helping and support those who need it. I know the power and the benefits that counselling has, having been on my own personal counselling journey which has only increased my passion. I believe everyone has the ability to grow and change under the right conditions and counselling has those conditions and to allow exploration for the issues you are facing.

What counselling offers;

Life can be very challenging at times and counselling can be helpful in supporting you to navigate through these difficult periods. No matter what you are experiencing whether that be depression, anxiety, a bereavement, low self-esteem, OCD etc. Counselling can offer a space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, helping you to understand them better and to make sense of what is going on, allowing you to feel heard and understood. We can then work collaboratively to overcome these challenges, empowering you to reach your desired goals, and if you don't have a particular goal in mind that's ok! You may find one along the way. My goal is to empower you to overcome the challenges you are currently facing, leaving you feeling more confident and hopeful in your everyday life.

What I offer as a counsellor;

Counselling can be quite daunting, especially if it is your first time and maybe not really knowing what to expect. That is why I offer a safe, confidential, non-judgemental, warm and supportive space for you to express yourself freely, allowing you to do so at a pace that feels comfortable for you, explore your strengths and understand your experiences. I approach each session with empathy, compassion, respect and no judgment, focusing on building a good and solid therapeutic relationship through trust and transparency.

I am based at Moor Therapy in Heaton Moor. The rooms are, inviting, cosy and confidential. Bus routes and train station near by with parking available.

Whilst working together your wellbeing is my top priority and I will be supporting you every step of the way. If you are interested send me an email and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
